August 2007:

Steve Driverbros had an amazing time in Ibiza, and met with some old friends. Highlights included hooking up with the Freqklash boys at Es Paradis, and getting VIP'ed up to the max at one of the best clubs on the island, El Divino, thanks to Liquid People, MN2S, and the other people we disturbed (LOL!). August will start well with an all-dayer at Curve on saturday the 4th, for the 'Reunion Party'. Sean Garnham has put on this event to bring back legends of the Colchester music scene on either side of decks. We are chuffed as punch to be asked to play alongside Sean himself, Gilly and Mr Conan Manchester. Sure to be a winner. Andy Driverbros is also off to the party island of Ibiza to let his hair down, party with a few mates (Mikee Wild, Stevie, Rik, Widger and Nina) and most importantly secure our dates in September.

--

July 2007:

WOW! - what can we say about Dave's birthday spin off, with legends coming from all over to play a random sunday night in Colchester. Due to unforseen circumstances, Andy Driverbros represented the Brothers, and played a stormer by all accounts. Funky, Electro, a few classics and plenty of crowd rocking beats! It certainly went off! Steve Driverbros hit ibiza with his girlfriend Laura in July, and laid the foundations for our annual shindig on the white isle. Although no gigs were played, parties were attended and speedos were worn! We were back at Silk Road, Colchester again, alongside Dave Stephenson for his Kamasutra night on the 27th. Andy Driverbros represented the dynamic duo, and Dave and him rocked the joint!! Once again thanks to Dave - looking forward to the next one!

--

June 2007:

Summer still isn't here weatherwise for the UK as yet, but things have really heated up in the studio. We have finished our remix for Brittany, and have sent it over to the USA for their perusal... We'll wait and see their thoughts. We're pleased with how it went, and would like to say a massive thanks to Steve Cook (10 Years Too Late) for allowing us to work with him - heres to future productions!! Also in June we're scheduled to play at a good friend of ours, Dave Stephenson at his residency on a Sunday in Silk Road, Colchester. Its his 21st (or 40th) birthday so we are expecting a big crowd and we have no doubts they WILL be up for it!! Our Early Doors recidency every Saturday at the Curve Bar is still taking good shape.

--

May 2007:

May has started with a bang for us, playing alongside good friend Conan Liquid People at Matt Jolly's new venture - 'Smut'. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, and hope it's the first of many for the Smut guys! Following on from our March excursion to Miami WMC, Brittaney Starr has been back in touch and asked us to remix her latest single... We have hooked up with our good friend, Steve Cook (10 Years Too Late) to produce something unique for our stateside friends. This will obviously take a few weeks (both Steve Cook and we are perfectionists!), and is really exciting for us! Steve Driverbros has moved to london town to allow a two pronged attack on the unsuspecting masses... (but also to move closer to work/move in with his girlfriend).

--

April 2007:

Well, well, well.... we're back from the Miami WMC’07 in one piece (just!), and are still buzzing.... We had an excellent time! Massive thanks to our travelling companions John (PB Photography) Andrews, Paul (Lunge Off UK) Miller, and Steve (Loud House Promotions UK) Kelly. We hoped they enjoyed themselves as much as we did. We played our arranged gig at the Wyndham Hotel, and is was very encouraging to meet some people who came to see us there at the unearthly hour of midday! It's always nice to meet some people you've spoken to over the internet, and put a face to the name! We attended a seminar/production/demo workshop, which was headed by an acquaintance of ours, Z Morse (Perfecto Records). He invited us to a party in the 'posh' part of Miami, at a mansion party he was hosting alongside (adult entertainer & vocalist) Brittaney Starr, and Sex Kitten Music. We of course attended and met with some really cool industry types, and made some good contacts. Being the only British there, we proceeded to drink the bar dry and had a great time. We must have made a good impression because Brittany and other people asked us to return the following night with our record boxes! We turned up (fashionably late) the following night and played. Back to almost reality, we made sooooo many contacts and we're slowly, but surely responding to business cards, cds, and vinyl we were given! Apologies for the annual delays.

--

March 2007:

We are due to hit Miami at the end of March, for the third year of The Driver Brothers being represented stateside for the Winter Music Conference. We hope to meet up with some of the contacts we have made on previous excursions, and this time we're due to bring some of our very good friends to the party. We're trying to tie some dates up for us, but so far we have cemented our usual gig in the lobby of the Wyndham Hotel, we look forward to meeting some people there. As per usual we'll be open to offers whilst we're in Miami, and will generally go with the flow on the party front. Hold tight Miami. (Look out for the news next month!)

--

February 2007:

After the lull of january, and couple of bits of news...
Firstly our residency at Curve Bar in colchester becomes more focused and identified, as we introduce......

Early Doors @ Curve Bar **** drinks deals/details etc ****

We are still playing the 7pm-9pm slot, with guests playing after us on a weekly basis. During the 7pm-9pm slot, take advantage of the £1 drinks specials (see cards/bar for details) - we will take control on the last saturday night of the month, and will supply the house music until close, with the odd guest thrown in for good measure.

Secondly, we are very pleased to announce our involvement in a new night coming to the town (in a few months time!)...

Sunday 6th May 2007
SMUT @ Curve Bar
, Colchester
8pm - 3am

Sophie DJ (Hed Kandi Greece, Oh My Records)
Conan Manchester (Liquid People, Defected Records)
The Driver Brothers (Curve Bar, Nuvo, MEM)
Plus Percussion from Sabian S8, and live bass from Tony Gibson

We are really excited to have Sophie DJ and the legend that is Conan playing on our 'home turf', so we're looking forwad to this one!! This is a new venture for us, and we would like to wish Matt Jolly & the crew good luck, and we'll be sure to give it 110%!!

Next month is miami, so we've got to go and buy the sunblock and our speedos.... Gigs that are confirmed so far:

Friday 23rd March 2007
Miami Beach Resort & Spa Lobby Area
1pm - 2pm... feel free to come and say hello and take a mix CD!!

--

January 2007:

Well into the new year we go! First up - we are in the process of sorting out some gigs for our Miami WMC Tour in March (19th-26th). For those that are more local (ie in the UK!!) every saturday we will be playing at our residency at Curve, in Colchester, the night is called "Early Doors" we will be warming up for some special guests in the future and you can keep up-to-date with the goings on by clicking on the link (or on the advert on the top left of this page!). Also we have a potential booking at a new night called SMUT (more news coming in February 2007!)

--

December 2006:

Merry Christmas, and a happy new year to all! Well another year passes by, and boy have we had fun...! We'd like to thank everyone that has come to support us this year, in the UK and abroad. It was nice to meet everyone we met, and see everyone we knew already! Highlights this year have got to be playing at two of the biggest clubs in the UK, and of course playing in Ibiza and the United States - thanks to everyone that made these and all our gigs happen (we hope everyone had as much fun as we did!). Looking forward to 2007, we have got lots of things (as always) in the pipeline, and if half of the ideas we've got come off, and then we'll be surpassing 2006's success. Here are a few things to tickle those taste buds... We are talking to people about starting our own night early next year, starting of small, but with the possibility to take it elsewhere. There are new monthly residencies in the pipeline (fingers crossed). We are hitting America in march for definite (Miami to be exact), and we hopefully should be over there on more than one occasion in 2007. We are both intent on getting into the producing side, and have a few good contacts with studios etc, that have offered their services if needed! Expect a call soon! You never know we could come up with the track that creates all the buzz, and will be the soundtrack for next year..... Well maybe hahaha.... anyway onwards and upwards!

Dont forget to check out the Gallery for some NEW pictures!

--

November 2006:

Thanks to everyone that attended the Zest and Hub gigs last month, it was nice to see you all! Thank to Rossi and Martin for a cool evening! We were lucky enough to play at Hub with Rossi on his last night there for the time being, we're sure he'll be back again soon on the other side of the decks! As he's been resident there fortnightly for the last two years, we wonder what he'll do with is time off! We have however been asked to play at Hub again in December, alongside resident Sean G:

Friday 1st December (9pm-2am)
Soulful Grooves @ Hub, Colchester, UK... w/Sean G

Good news - We have also booked our annual trip to Miami for the Winter Music Conference 2007.

Monday 19th March 2007 - Sunday 25th March 2007
Driver Brothers @ Miami WMC 07, Miami, USA

We are looking forward to this again (what else can you do in march?? haha), and are currently speaking to a few people regarding gigs whilst we're stateside, and i'm sure Ricardo @ Nuvo, and Steve @ MEM are on the case. If you have any ideas/opportunities for us, hit us up with an email asap, and we'll try and get things sorted. This time a few of 'dive club' will be joining us, and it's sure to be a memorable flight....

--

October 2006:

We had a cracking time last month in both Birmingham and Newquay and would like to thank everyone we met along the way, especially Steve Tucker. This month, the hard work continues hahaha, including a new gig for us...

Friday 20th October (10pm-3am):
Klik @ Zest, Ipswich, UK... w/ Rossi & Martin Lucas

Big thanks to Rossi and Martin in advance, as we know they've worked really hard on this new venture, and they deserve it to be a great success. There is a link to the Klik Music website in our links page, so check them out! Klik Music have also got a slot on internet radio (www.ssradiouk.com) fortnightly on thursdays, and we'll have a mix on their show on Thursday 5th October!
We're playing alongside Rossi again later in the month as well...

Saturday 28th October (9pm-2am):
Saturdays @ Hub Bar, Colchester, UK.. w/ Rossi

Finally, with the Miami Winter Music Conference 2007 dates about to drop, we'll be stateside again to hook up with the Nuvo Music team and Ricardo (and we are sure Mr Tucker ont be too far behind!!)
We'll let you know when and where we're staying, next month most likely!

Unfortunately our gig at Pacha London alongside Rhythm At Work has been postponed due to unforeseen circumstances (we are gutted but the show must go on as they say - we will keep you posted via this site!!)

--

September 2006:

This month we're due to hook up with our friends at ME Music in the midlands! Mr Steve Tucker has got us playing at the Boiler Room on friday the 8th, alongside the well respected Chris Samba (Samba La Casa) who has flown back to the UK from Hong Kong. It will of course be nice to finally meet up with Chris (and of course Steve) for an evening of fun and frolics.

Friday 8th September (9pm-2am):
Frank @ The Boiler Room, Birmingham, UK...
w/ Chris Samba (Hong Kong)

Unfortunately The Driver Brothers are only in Birmingham for the night, as we've got to drive to newquay on the saturday for a week of surfing! No rest for the wicked!
We thoroughly enjoyed ibiza last month, and will post pics up as soon as we get them back from 'our photographer' - you know who you are...
Thanks to everyone we met, and muchos respect to a few people that made the trip another special one; Dave Dimitrysoul, Joel Fabini, Jamie Gittens, Martin @ Plastik and of course 'Dive Club' (LOL)

--

August 2006:

August is here and we're off to ibiza at the end of the month, so are really looking forward to that. Of course it is a 'working' holiday, but it's always nice to 'work' near a beach, drinking, and listening to good music! We're looking forward to catching up with old friends on the island and are very excited about meeting new ones, over the course of the extended bank holiday weekend! Please see the news for July for gig info, as it hasn't changed! We've got other bits and bobs in the pipeline and are eagerly awaiting to give you info on this, when everything is confirmed!

--

July 2006:

We kicked off july in style with another great night at Route in colchester, thanks to everyone that came down and made it such a busy night - the live mix is available to download on our mixes page.

We are currently speaking to a couple of other places on the island, but we'll wait and see. Some more exciting news this month from Steve Tucker at ME Music regarding a forthcoming weekly residency in Birmingham, which will include some big names, and we're happy to say we will be involved! Watch this space!

A provisional date for your diaries is Saturday 21st October, which will see us at Pacha London (finally!), alongside Rhythm At work.

--

June 2006:

A big thank you to all that came to Hub in Colchester earlier in the month, it was our first time there and it was very busy, and good to see a lot of the regulars attending!! It was very nice to (finally) play at what is regarded one of the best bars in Colchester, thanks to Rossi for having us down! We are still sorting out dates and places for our Ibiza trip towards the end of August. We have spoken to a few promoters and are looking forward to playing with some new faces and meeting up for a beer and a spin with the old! Early indications are that we'll be over on the white isle over August Bank Holiday weekend... watch this space!! Once again we're still wading through the promo material from our America trip, and have nearly finished emailing responses!! (at last)!

--

May 2006:

We are looking forward to a busy may, with house music in the main room at Route, and a couple of gigs there this month. We are speaking to a few people regarding our annual shindig over in Ibiza, and will announce details when confirmed, but we're looking at going over in August. We have still got a pile of cds/records to go through from Miami/Washington and are gradually getting through them - apologies! Thanks to everyone we met at Turnmills, and thanks to Danny and Neil @ Soulfunk. Unfortunately due to complications with Pukka up/Rhythm at Work, the Pacha gig in June has been cancelled - shame. We have joined the Myspace revolution and are registered under the_driver_brothers. feel free to ask to be our friend, and email us here with any comments/questions.

--

April 2006:

--

March 2006:

A few more gigs have been confirmed for us over the coming months, and we are especially looking forward to going over to the USA at the end of march to attend the Miami Winter Music Conference 2006, and hope to make some new contacts and friends, which will hopefully lead to appearances for us all over the world!

A new mix has also been added in the mixes page, please check it out! More will be added as and when we get round to doing them!

Any feedback on the site or one of our gigs, please don't hesitate to contact us. There is a link at the bottom of the page for this. (Alternatively email us at driver_brothers@hotmail.com)
